Having McDonalds and Taco Bell as your next door neighbours is the ultimate test of restraint, stoicism and self-discipline.
We are pretty proud of our record so far. We have now lived here for over a month, but last night we finally caved in and paid our first visit to Taco Bell. The reason is, of course, that my wife’s food cravings are spiralling out of control! LilleLyngstad is now into his sixth month in the womb and is, it turns out, a carb addict.
I thought I had done a decent job last night by preparing a balanced meal consisting of pasta, vegetables, and meat. Lots of meat. Beef.
Kim then went on to supplement the meal with bread and tortilla chips. Now that’s three sources of carbohydrates: pasta, bread and chips. LilleLyngstad was distinctly unimpressed and had just one comment to make: “More carbs. Now!”
So off we went. Chicken burrito and cinnamon twists for the preggers (The Taco Bell craving is not unusual apparently).
How long are we going to able to resist the evil McD…?
in my defense…. the QUANTITY of all of those things wasn’t THAT great. And I think Bjørn was bluffing when he kept saying he wasn’t hungry. Honestly, a 9 p.m. snack isn’t that unusual, prego or not…right? — kim
I can remember when I was preg. with Sam (our first) I would drive to work the 10:30A shift and stop half way there to feast on crunchy taco supremes – preferable in 2 packs!!! Ah, yumm… Sam still likes tacos… hmmm. Oh, and with Sarah Grace, couldn’t beat the ol’ fillet o crap (otherwise known as some kind of fish) sandi at McD’s…. I say live it up, only time in your life people get excited about you jumping on a scale and watching the old needle climb! xo- E.
